A Workshop With Baye Riddell by
Ailex Ryder
Eleven Manawatu Pottery members were lucky enough to attend this workshop with Baye using wooden cradles.
On the Friday evening we started the weekend off with a potluck tea and slide presentation by Baye (inbetween mains and deserts). This was a great way for introductions to be made and to see what type of pottery Baye produces and of course to have lots of laughs.
Still not knowing just what we were in for, we had some ideas of what to expect.
A Great Exhibition
I think this was one of our very best exhibitions.
There were not as many entries but the quality was generally improved.
Opening night was a real buzz with a good number of our members and guests attending.
Our Patron, Eric Brew, was very complimentary and spoke highly of the pottery on show.
The judge Aimee McLeod’s comments were very encouraging and I think will be a help to us as we continue potting and hopefully learning and improving.
