Wanganui Potters' Society has about 95 members
at present and we are an active group. People are working on
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, and on Wednesday from about 10
am to 4 pm.
We are all ages and from all walks of life - some retired and some with young
families. We have raku firings, pit firings, days when the public can join
in with the raku, tutor teachers groups, groups of school children, and one
of our members is currently running classes on Thursday evenings at the club-rooms.
We hold two exhibitions a year
an unselected one (our March Display) when
the potter choses their own best pots, and
our Annual Exhibition in October
when there is a guest selector and a guest potter.
We have a lot of fun, and there is always someone round to help with "How
should I do this?"
