Thoughts on competition |

Thank you to all those involved in this competition. It was very easy to enter. I really enjoyed seeing what other students throughout the country were making. Ceramics is a very difficult career choice financially and with so many talented potters in New Zealand, finding one's own path is also a challenge.Support and encouragement from others is essential.Thank you again for helping to provide this. |

Student Competition |

Congratulations to all award winners and thank you to contestants and judges for all the work they have done to make this such a successful competition. Ranking works using photographs only is a difficult task.
Thanks also to Jim Pollard (NZSP Secretary) for conceiving the event and managing the behind-the-scenes administration details.
The society is also grateful to the Canterbury/Westland members of NZSP who donated the Premier and Merit Award prizes and to the anonymous person who donated the Members Choice prize.
We hope that all student entrants will take up the offer to join the New Zealand Society of Potters for 2006 at no charge. This will give you the opportunity to exhibit in the 2006 National Exhibition in Taupo and will enable us all to see your works 'in the flesh' so to speak.
This is the first of hopefully many future on-line events of this kind on nzpotters.com. If you have some comments - perhaps thoughts about how we might improve the management and display of works please use the feedback forms on the competition pages to post your reactions and reflections. |
